“We so
loved our week in Los Jacintos in late September
2007. The peaceful setting with its wonderful scenery
was truly amazing, the views stunning - a painter's
or photographer's paradise. As well as being able
to stroll around the huge area of the farm, we
explored the fascinating small towns of Velez
Rubio and Velez Blanco and other places in the
area. We could have driven down to the coast,
but didn't feel the need. Just sitting on the
beautiful balcony, enjoying the lovely, comfortable
accommodation or sampling a delicious meal cooked
by our host, Karen, cooling down in the large
pool or waiting for a visit from friendly Bella,
it could not have been better. We gave a hand
with the grape harvest - not a hardship but a
delight. A truly wonderful holiday which we can
thoroughly recommend. We hope so much to be able
to go again. Mary and Graham James, Cotswolds,
UK."
“A truly beautiful location, off the beaten track in rural Spain. The apartments were both lovely with superb views of the surrounding area. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and simply furnished which was exactly what we wanted and swimming pool and the patio area both lived up to the photographs. Bella was a great hit with the children and they were very sorry to leave her behind. Alison Gaunt, UK. August 2008 "
“We
first went to Los Jacintos with our two teenage
daughters for two weeks during the school summer
holidays last year. As we arrived we were taken
by the panoramic views and the peace and tranquillity.
We were warmly greeted by Richard and Karen, as
well as Bella the dog – she’s gorgeous!
We stayed in the Cerezo apartment, which is really
lovely. The view from the kitchen and the two balconies
are breath-taking. Our days were spent relaxing
by the pool or exploring the area and seeing the
“real” Spain rather than the commercialised
Spain. Richard and Karen are very good at suggesting
places to visit/eat out. On an evening we went for
a stroll, often accompanied by Bella, and then sat
on the balcony, chatting and looking at the stars,
including shooting stars – we’d never
seen a night sky like that before. Richard and Karen
are the perfect hosts - happy to help or to have
a chat, but then leave you to enjoy your holiday
in peace. We came away feeling totally relaxed and
refreshed and that is why we’re going back
for another two weeks at the start of the school
holidays this year. Ian and Wendy Taylor, UK. July 2007 and 2008."
“We had a wonderful family holiday at 'Los Jacintos'. The surroundings are breathtaking and the accommodation is fabulous. We loved the unspoilt beauty, the lack of tourists and the feel of being in the real Spain - The ambiance is so peaceful. In the cool of the day we loved walking in the surrounding hills and when the sun was high the pool was refreshing and fun! Our 12 year old and our 20 year old loved it too. We aren't really the night club and disco type so it suited us - however the local Fiesta was something we were glad we didn't miss.
Richard and Karen made our stay really memorable - an evening meal (excellent quality food!) on the veranda watching the sun go down behind the mountains was a feast for the eyes as well as the palette.
We enjoyed joining with the folk at the Church in Albox and received very significant ministry whilst we were there. Our 12 year old summarised the message as ...'Jesus is coming back and he's moving to Spain' - just about says it all! Rob and Jane Guinney, UK. August 2008."
“Looking for a holiday location with vibrant night-life and crowded beaches? You won’t find them here, which is why we loved Los Jacintos so much! Beautiful rural setting, wonderful views, peace and quiet, no tourists (apart from us), lovely pool, spacious and cool accommodation, and great hosts! Add to that the interesting local village markets, castles, country walks, and star-gazing – all make for a thoroughly relaxing holiday. Bring a book (or six) and chill-out. – Geoff, Jo, Georgie, Katie and Tom Wells, England, August 2008."
“ We had a wonderful holiday at Richard and Karen's home during the autumn half-term 2009. The scenery was breath taking and the weather perfect. It was so good to relax at their swimming pool, to travel around the beautiful countryside, and to meet gracious locals who were patient and kind when we tried out our broken Spanish. Another highlight was the knowledge that our hosts were Christians who have a powerful prayer ministry. Rock, Christine and David Sturt, October 2009."
“A fantastic holiday. An amazing place to stay. The views and tranquillity a real dose of medicine. Mark and Nicola Bennet and family, May 2009."
“We have really enjoyed the two holidays we have spent at Los Jacintos. Stunning scenery and a place of real peace and tranquillity - great for relaxation around the pool! Many great memories - not least experiencing 'real' Spain in the local town, Velez Rubio, and surrounding area. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality and friendship - we valued being able to share and pray together. We hope to be back again soon! David and Valerie Lurcook, August 2009."
“A God given holiday in a God blessed place – truly relaxing and special. Karen’s food and hospitality a real treat. We are going home refreshed and rejuvenated. Thank you so much. John, Sarah, Isabella and Beatrice Haughan, July 2009."
“A real oasis of calm and beauty in which to rest and be close to God. Thank you so much Richard and Karen for sharing your home and your time. ps. The food was lovely! Paula Harrison, August 2009."
“
Unfortunately we were only able to spend one week at Los Jacintos, but we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful location and lovely farmhouse. We stayed in Cerezo apartment, which was spacious, very clean and comfortable and with everything we needed during our stay.
It was great to have a delicious evening meal cooked for us on arrival, and it was a great start to our holiday eating it on the terrace surrounded by wonderful scenery.
The pool was excellent and very well looked after. Our hosts Richard and Karen were very attentive and gave us some valuable advice on places to visit etc., as we were not familiar with the area.
We loved the birdsong and peaceful setting and came away refreshed and looking forward to going back again. Mavis, Gerald and Iain (Belfast), June 2010"
“
To wake up each morning to stillness and bird song was wonderful! We had not realised just how mountainous the scenery was in this area of Spain ... great walks in Sierra de Espuna. We visited great historical sites and small villages .. where folks were just so friendly and helpful and the local cafe's showed great hospitality. So, thank you for giving us the opportunity to getting to know another part of God's wonderful world. Heather & Vee (Bedford, England) June 2010
